Ten Days to Live
About the time we started producing the Time week I got a call from an old friend from High School - he started off as he normally does cracking a few jokes catching up on life then he dropped a bomb he was in the hospital with cancer. We talked a while longer I prayed for him then hung up. My life has been busy over the last few weeks and from time to time I prayed for him and almost called a couple of times to see how things were going. This morning I got a call Ricky passed away. My heart sank tears welled - a young life taken way too soon - how tragic. In the time since I reflected on his life his faith - he was one of those people that lived as if this was his last day on earth - his love for Jesus was strong he cared deeply for the people around him. Ricky was one of those people that I figured would always be there - I on the other hand am someone who is driven by goals and achievements often forgetting the small moments in life that Ricky charished. How profound that as Ricky was living his last days I was producing programs about how to live we should live our last days.
Today I challenge you to think of Ricky as you consider how to live life.
